Carolinas WPA
Carolinas WPA was formed in 2003 to encourage communication among community colleges, colleges, and universities, public and private, in North Carolina and South Carolina. Members represent a variety of writing programs, including writing centers, writing across the curriculum programs, first-year writing programs, professional writing programs, and undergraduate writing majors/minors. Carolinas WPA enables regional writing program administrators and teachers to share concerns and issues related to writing instruction and to the administration of writing programs. The organization also provides a support system among North Carolina and South Carolina Schools.
Carolinas WPA hosts two conferences each year. Meeting in the Middle, a one-day conference in Charlotte, is next scheduled for February 24, 2012. The three-day fall conference is tentatively scheduled for September 17-19, 2012, at Wildacres. Visit the Conferences page to learn more about both conferences.
Anytime of the year, you can connect with other regional writing program administrators through the Carolinas WPA listserv. The Listserv page explains how to join.
The Carolinas WPA News, Job Ads, and CFPs page includes organization and member announcements. If you would like to post a job ad or call for proposals on this page, email your announcement to the Carolinas WPA Web Manager.
